In 1994, Whitney Houston took to the stage for a series of three concerts in South Africa, including Durban at Kings Park Stadium on November 8, Johannesburg (November 12), and Cape Town (November 19), becoming the first major Western artist to perform in the newly reunited post-apartheid nation following President Nelson Mandela's historic election victory. The three shows, which drew a total audience of over 200,000, were more than just concerts; they were a celebration of freedom, hope, and unity. Whitney's powerful voice and emotional performances brought joy and inspiration to a country that had just been liberated. In addition, a portion of the proceeds from her concerts benefited numerous local South African children's charities through her foundation.

The Concert for a New South Africa (Durban), is a new live album featuring Whitney’s biggest hits, “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me),” “How Will I Know,” “I Have Nothing,” “Greatest Love of All,” “I Will Always Love You,” and other classics including “Amazing Grace” and “Home.” The new album also includes the previously unreleased song “Love Is.
