After four studio albums and years of intensive touring, it was time for something different. While writing 'Colossus', Triggerfinger wanted to add some new flavors to the familiar recipe. "We wanted to get away from the rat race for a while", says Ruben Block. "First we worked with some external musicians, who took us completely out of our comfort zone. That made us look at our songs in a completely different way. As a second step, we built our own little studio, where we could work and scream around the clock. But we wanted more than that. The previous albums were driven by energy, by the live interaction between the three of us. That was not what we were about: the song came first. 'Anything goes' was our motto. Acoustic instruments, samples, keyboards, percussion, two bass guitars: as long as they served the song, everything was okay."

'Colossus', featuring the cocky new single 'Flesh Tight', offers filthy guitar riffs, sing-along choruses and festive Glamrock. Not one of the ten songs on 'Colossus' is a cover, but the record is doused with the special sauce you'd expect from Triggerfinger
