And suddenly there was One Lifetime, the fifth album by Tip Jar. Written and recorded at a time when culture is in a deep valley and the future is more uncertain than ever for many. Tip Jar's music does not easily fit into the familiar boxes. Quite a few of those boxes pass by when you listen to the new album: bluegrass, country, soul, folk, roots and even a pinch of jazz make 'One Lifetime' a varied listening trip. The edges of Americana are constantly sought out and occasionally stretched considerably. The style is therefore difficult to define, but with the voices of Bart de Win and Arianne Knegt as a starting point, the characteristic Tip Jar sound is recognizable from thousands. Personal, honest, lots of vocals. More melancholic perhaps than before, with winks to the frayed edges of life.

Tip Jar is the international collective of musical friends around Bart and Arianne. From Americana heroes like the American Walt Wilkins to a jazz virtuoso like Gilad Atzmon, from emerging talents like Baer Traa to the Dutch string wonders Harry Hendriks, BJ Baartmans and Joost van Es. Tip Jar's own infectious Americana and love for American roots music have already brought them to legendary stages like Gruene Hall (Emmylou Harris, Johnny Cash) and Luckenbach (Willie Nelson, Guy Clark) and secured them a spot in the line-up of various festivals in Texas. In the summer of 2019, Tip Jar toured in England for the first time as a trio. In their own country, the band mainly operates in the Americana circuit, but they also do well in the more intimate theaters and music venues. They have performed live on the radio several times, including at Met het oog op morgen and in NPO2 Muziekcafé.
