De twee kennen elkaar al meer dan 20 jaar, maar PLAY is hun eerste opname als gezamenlijke leiders. Hun oorspronkelijke idee was om een verzameling moderne jazzstandards op te nemen, mogelijk met een paar versies van populaire nummers.
