Jazz trumpeter Teus Nobel has been more productive than ever in recent years. In 2019 he released no less than two albums: Journey Of Man and the Edison-winning Saudade. On the album Tanto Amor, released in April 2021, he delves into the Brazilian atmospheres that he had already explored on Saudade and in the fall of 2021 (vinyl RSD 2022) he will release a pure jazz album, entitled Pleasure Is The Measure. A live album, that is, recorded during four sold-out concerts in jazz club Paradox (Tilburg).

Music must be authentic:

On the live album Pleasure Is The Measure, Teus presents his vision of the cultural sector. In his eyes, the idea that 'culture should be for everyone' contains the risk that cultural makers will create with public opinion in mind. Culture, in this case music, gains enormously in expressiveness when it is authentic: when the inspiration and especially the pleasure of the artist resonates in his music. Only then is the public reached and inspired. Or, as the title suggests: pleasure is the measure!
