2023 will be another busy year for Stef Bos. He will be seen in the popular VTM program 'Liefde voor Muziek'! In 2023 his new album 'Bitterlief' (produced by Jo Francken) will also be released. "Geen Ander", the first single from this album was released on September 28, 2022.

Stef Bos: “The adventure of this CD started a long time ago with the desire to work with a producer again. Since I recorded the CD 'Tussen de liefde en de leegte' in 1992 with Boudewijn de Groot as producer, I was the captain of the ship of all the CDs that followed. Over the past ten years, this was mainly in collaboration with my band, with whom I also wrote a lot of the material. In recent years, I felt that it was time to break that habit. The name of Jo Francken had also been buzzing around in my head for years. Someone with a beautiful, unapproachable view of music who always tries to find the essence of those he works with. When Corona brought everything to a standstill, I felt that the time had come to hand over the reins again.”

“It became a beautiful adventure in which I was regularly sent home with homework by Jo and his talented companion Pieter Jan Maertens. I like resistance, it takes you out of your comfort zone and takes a person further. I am never so much concerned with a result or a destination but much more with the path to get there and that path was in this case purifying for me”

'Geen Ander' was deliberately chosen as the first sign of life of the full cd, 'Bitterlief' because it shows the sound and atmosphere we were looking for. All songs were first recorded on piano or guitar in the base to see what else the song asked for. Tom Vanstiphout with his guitar and Bart Van Caenegem on the piano were the thinkers and performers on duty.
