Annie Clark made her debut as St. Vincent in 2007 with Marry Me and quickly became regarded as one of the most innovative and compelling artists in modern music. After Actor (2009) and Strange Mercy (2011), she won a GRAMMY for Best Alternative Album in 2014 for her self-titled fourth album. In 2017, MASSEDUCTION followed with two more GRAMMYs (Best Rock Song and Best Recording Package). Her latest album, 2021's Daddy's Home, finally earned her a second Best Alternative Album GRAMMY. Clark's latest, All Born Screaming, will be her first fully self-produced album (after co-producing all of her previous albums) and shows St. Vincent at her most primitive. All Born Screaming is equal parts spiritual abandonment and blissful acceptance. "If you're born screaming, that's a great sign," Clark says, "because it means you're breathing. You're alive. My God. It's joyful. And it's also a protest. We're all born in protest in some way. It's terrifying to be alive, it's ecstatic to be alive. It's everything."
