'Hackney Diamonds' is the title of the album with the first own work since A Bigger Bang from 2005. The album is named after the Hackney neighborhood in London, which is considered the epicentre of modern art. It was recorded in various studios, including Henson Studios in LA, Electric Ladyland in New York and Sanctuary Studios in Nassau on the Bahamas. The production was in the hands of Grammy Award winner Andrew Watt, who has also worked with Iggy Pop, Pearl Jam and Elton John. The rousing 'Angry' is the first single and forms the overture of the album, which contains a total of twelve new songs.
