Op Zoek Naar Johan is the band around singer and songwriter Martijn Kuijten. After years of wandering around Europe and the rest of the world and a past in various English-language bands, he started writing songs in Dutch/Brabantian in the summer of 2011. “In Brabantian because it is closer to my feelings or just because our mom can understand what I sing,” says Kuijten. In the theater performance 'Weg Uit De Stad', based on their eponymous debut album from 2015, Op Zoek Naar Johan leaves the city in search of stories. In search of love, a bench in the sun, peace and a place of their own. In an attempt to escape from the culture of greed, they return to the south, back to their roots and meet Toos, Berrie, Bram and many others.
