If Judy Blank told you she was from some small town in Louisiana, you'd believe her. But she's actually from Utrecht, although she's well on her way to conquering the world with her groovy americana songs. The singer-songwriter broke through in 2018 with the coming-of-age album 'Morning Sun', recorded in America, a beautiful mix of idiosyncratic indie folk, ingenious guitar work and a disarming voice, which was not only well received in the Netherlands to fall. Last year she made her debut at SXSW in Austin, she toured Europe with Susto (US) and in September she was the first Dutch person ever to perform at AmericanaFest in Nashville, the largest showcase festival in the genre.

Last fall, the EP 'Morning After', the rawer brother of 'Morning Sun', also saw the light of day. This spring, the final part of the trilogy will be released on cassette: 'Morning Tapes'. Lo-fi bedroom recordings of the favorite songs from both albums, each recorded in one take. It doesn't get any purer than this. From these recordings - with the help of Pablo van de Poel - the song '1995' was recorded at its smallest. In contrast, there is the recording of the same song with the prestigious Metropole Orchestra. The result is the 7” inch vinyl on which both versions are recorded and which will be released in a limited edition on Records Store Day.
