'S3NS' is the eleventh studio album by French-Lebanese jazz trumpeter and composer Ibrahim Maalouf. Maalouf is known for his ability to effortlessly blend classical, jazz and Arabic music with his recognizable, mystical trumpet sound. On 'S3NS' Maalouf is assisted by a number of very talented guest musicians. With contributions from three virtuoso Cuban pianists Harold Lopez Nussa, Alfredo Rodriguez and Roberto Fonsec, saxophonist Irving Acao and violinist Ylilian Canizares he delivers a very strong album that will be very recognizable to fans. His music sounds fresh, but still nostalgic. Not really jazz, not really pop, at times even rock. Indefinable, but still nice, exactly as we are used to from Maalouf.
Internationally recognized French-Lebanese artist Ibrahim Maalouf is currently hailed as one of the leading instrumentalists on the French music scene, with a career spanning more than a decade. Ibrahim began his career as a classical musician, winning several major international classical music competitions when he was just twenty years old. In the early years of the new millennium, he made his mark on the music industry as one of the most popular artists in the pop, jazz and world music scenes. Throughout his career, he has shared the stage with a wide range of artists, including Sting, Salif Keita, Amadou & Mariam, Lhasa de Sela and many more.
