The surprise during the most recent edition of the Graspop festival was undoubtedly the rock performance of Helmut Lotti. Media and audience still can't stop talking about the live whirlwind that Helmut unleashed on the unsuspecting audience in Dessel. The audience was completely into it from the first notes, mouths fell open in amazement. The media stumbled over the superlatives and the ever critical metal community does what it always does: reward quality and embrace artists who deserve it. The performance on that sunny June day, turns out to be the starting shot of a new musical chapter for Lotti. It all started a year ago with that cover of 'Run To the Hills' Iron Maiden that left friend and foe speechless. Helmut feels like a fish in water in the rich repertoire of Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, AC/DC etc. And now there is a full-fledged album, recorded live during that already legendary concert. Helmut seems to be ready to write an exciting new chapter in his long career that confirms him once again as one of the most versatile and successful Belgian artists of the past decades.
