Pop sensation Froukje has been working on it with heart and soul in recent times and now the moment has finally arrived: on January 12, 2024 she will release her long-awaited debut album 'Noodzakelijke Verdriet'. The album includes the tracks 'Als Ik God Was', 'Naar Het Licht' and the new single 'Houden Van Mij'. The latter will be released on October 27.

Froukje Veenstra has been on a roll the past three years. She was only 18 years old when she profiled herself as one of the new promises of Dutch alternative pop with her single 'Groter Dan Ik' in early 2020.

From that moment on, her star has been rising and she now has two Edisons (for the EPs 'Licht en Donker' and 'Uitzinnig'), two times 3voor12 Song of the Year (for the single 'Ik Wil Dansen' and 'Zonder Gezicht' with S10), two 3FM Awards (for Best Newcomer and Best Artist) and a Silver Nutcracker to her name. She also performed on the main stages of Lowlands, Down The Rabbit Hole, Rock Werchter and Pukkelpop, among others.

With her vulnerable, catchy songs about human sorrow and social themes, Froukje has conquered the hearts of Dutch music lovers, resulting in sold-out club tours and full festival summers. On 15 and 16 January, right after the release of 'Noodzakelijk Verdriet', Froukje will be in Carré.
