Fixkes is the group of Sam Valkenborgh and co that debuted in 2007 with Kvraagetaan, a world hit in Flanders, the song was number one in the Belgian charts for no less than 16 weeks. After three albums (Weeral halfacht was the last) a small breathing space was inserted, which officially ended with the announcement of the new long player IV (release September 18). "On to 2020. Myspace didn't happen. Fixkes didn't either. After the storm came the silence, but Fixkes kept busy. Kept working on lyrics and songs, occasionally swapped the small and fragile for a cool guitar solo or a dash of hip hop. And got better. In the meantime, almost fifteen years after the first rehearsal, there are three albums on the counter. The fourth album will be released on September 18. The style? The nineties, is that a style? What Pavement, Beastie Boys, Cake or Weezer? 'Rock is dead', Sam sings on the song 'Swijle zo gek'. That could well be, but when bum bags are allowed, trousers become wider again and sweaters scream at the top of their lungs, we're just waiting for sperm jeans. Or Fixkes.
