Eefje De Visser's hypnotic alternative pop constantly explores what drives, divides and unites people. After the success of her fourth album Bitterzoet, she retreated to the studio to work exclusively on songs she wrote during her tour, but also during the pandemic, her pregnancy and the first period of motherhood. This resulted in her twelve-track fifth studio album Heimwee. On this album, Eefje shows herself as her most authentic self: an uncompromising songwriter, unique in translating her inner world into personal, timeless songs and dark, dreamy productions. The album describes, among other things, a loss of naivety and open-mindedness, a longing for security and at the same time a need for breathing space and freedom. The singles 'Heimwee', 'Vlammen' and 'Uit Het Oog' that preceded the album, show how Eefje de Visser reinvents herself, with a new sound universe and layered lyrics.
