Initially, the Frisian formation De Kast played English-language music in the style of U2, Bon Jovi and The Rolling Stones. In the mid-90s, the group opted, not without success, for Dutch-language music. Morgen Wordt Het Beter and Een Teken Van Leven (also on this album) were big hits for the group. Niets Te Verliezen is the second and most successful album by De Kast, with mostly their own compositions. The single Raak is a composition by Henk Temming, who was also responsible for the production of the album. Furthermore, this album contains both a live version and a studio version of De Kast's biggest hit: the Frisian In Nije Dei, which is the title song for the film De Gouden Swipe.
