Anyone who sees the Dawn Brothers at work will be irrevocably sucked into the musical whirlwind that rages across the stage. Rock, folk, blues and soul are seemingly effortlessly mixed into an irresistible cocktail. It is that tantalizing 'what's going on here' feeling that makes you want to be part of this Rotterdam band yourself. The new Dawn Brothers album, called 'Alpine Gold', is a return to the energy of the debut, 'Stayin' Out Late', and includes a narrative song in which Sheryl Crow, Eddie Vedder and Cat Stevens pass by - then you know what's going on. The songs that ended up on 'Alpine Gold' were written within two months and then recorded in the Electric Monkey studio in Zaandam, where the band retreated together with producer Paul Willemsen. The songs that eventually came to fruition form an authentic collection of songs with a touch of mysticism, in which intuition and instinct were the key words. “No bullshit, just make a good record with strong songs,” the band said.

They may be the epitome of modesty in everyday life, but on 'Alpine Gold' the Dawn Brothers are not afraid to open Pandora's Box.
