“Forgotten Toys is just pieces of music that I’ve had in my head for years,” David says. “It just felt like it was time to put something together. It had been a while since I’d been in my studio, and I found myself listening to these little pieces all the time.” As much of a solo album as it is, Paich couldn’t help himself, inviting a few friends to join him. With Joseph Williams as co-producer and sometimes co-vocalist, he’s welcomed everyone from TOTO’s Steve Lukather to Brian Eno, Michael McDonald, Ray Parker Jr., Don Felder and The Rolling Stones’ Steve Jordan. For David, music is much more than the soundtrack to his life. As one of its architects, it is his life.
