Beggars Arkive releases a 30th anniversary edition of Buffalo Tom's second album Birdbrain. The album has been out of print for quite some time and will be released this fall as a limited mint green LP version.
Buffalo Tom (Bill Janovitz, Chris Colbourn, and Tom Maginnis) formed at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1984āa hotbed of post-punk guitar bands like Dinosaur Jr. and Pixies. Since the release of Birdbrain 30 years ago, many of the albumās songs have become live favorites, including the epic title track āBirdbrainā and āEnemy.ā Buffalo Tom continues to make music, with their most recent album, Quiet and Peace, released in 2018.
