Better Than Home (2015) werd geproduceerd door Rob Mathes en Michael Stevens --een bewuste ommezwaai na drie albums met Kevin Shirley- opgenomen in augustus 2014 met een indrukwekkende bezetting inclusief gitarist Larry Campbell en een volledige blazers- en strijksectie. Hart duikt hier diep in haar eigen verleden: pijn, familieproblemen en persoonlijke demonen, maar ook de weg naar acceptatie en schoonheid die ze daarin vond. Haar krachtige, doorleefde stem staat centraal op dramatische, arena-vullende ballads zoals de titeltrack en "St. Teresa," met duidelijke echo's van het vroege werk van Elton John in de weelderige arrangementen. Rauw, kwetsbaar en ongelooflijk aangrijpend.
