Padded Inner Sleeves – The Smartest Upgrade for Your Vinyl Collection
As a vinyl collector, you only want one thing: for your records to sound good and continue to look good. But did you know that a lot of damage to vinyl already starts... in the inner sleeve? That is precisely why padded inner sleeves are not an unnecessary luxury, but a must-have.
Most records come with standard paper inner sleeves. These do the job, but over time they can start to collect dust or even cause fine scratches when sliding them in and out. Padded inner sleeves made of paper with antistatic polyethylene inside offer much better protection. They are soft to the touch, antistatic, and keep dust and dirt out.
Why are they better?
- Antistatic – Less dust, less noise, and your needle stays cleaner.
- Softer material – Prevents scratches when sliding in and out.
- Easy to use – Your record slides back into the sleeve more smoothly without any struggle.
- Extend the life of your vinyl – Proper storage means proper preservation.
When should you change?
Immediately! Always replace standard paper inner sleeves with a padded version. Do you see that your old inner sleeves are yellowed, wrinkled or dusty? Then it is time for an upgrade. Even second-hand records often deserve a new inner sleeve immediately. After all, you do not know how they have been stored, and a fresh sleeve means a fresh start.
We have the lined inner covers in:
- White (available per 10 pieces or 100 pieces )
- Black (available per 10 pieces or 100 pieces )
Tip from Bob
Always use inner sleeves in combination with a good outer sleeve for maximum protection. And store your records upright – do not stack them, as they will warp over time!
In short: a small investment in padded inner sleeves will give you years of listening pleasure. Your ears (and your needle) will thank you.
