Post- punk for the broken soul
Iconic British band Suede will return on September 5, 2025 with their tenth studio album,Antidepressants . After the raw and energetic Autofiction from 2022, which achieved their highest chart position in over twenty years , the band now takes a new direction with a post - punk sound that reflects the tensions of modern life .
Frontman Brett Anderson describes the album as " broken music for broken people". He explains : " As Autofiction our punk album was , then Antidepressants our post -punk album. It's about the tensions of modern life , the paranoia, the fear, the neurosis. We're all striving for connection in a disconnected world. "
The album was recorded live with their regular producer Ed Buller, known for their early work, in studios in London, Brussels and Stockholm. Bassist Mat Osman adds : " This is a broad and ambitious album. It 's a big stage album and we 're stepping it up a notch ."
The first single, “ Disintegrate”, has now been released and offers a taste of the new sound. The black and white music video was directed by Chris Turner:
To celebrate the release , Suede are hosting a special concert series called ' Suede Takeover' at London 's Southbank Centre . They will perform in various venues over four evenings in September , including an intimate off- mic performance and their first full orchestral show in collaboration with the Paraorchestra.
Antidepressants will also be released on vinyl via BMG on September 5, 2025. Pre- orders are now available at www.bobsvinyl.nl!
