A legendary concert by The Who on vinyl

On August 22, 2025, a new live album from the legendary band The Who will be released: Live at the Oval 1971 .

On 18 September 1971, The Who headlined the benefit concert "Goodbye Summer: A Rock Concert" at The Oval cricket ground in Kennington, South London. The event was organised to provide relief to victims of the Bangladesh famine and attracted over 35,000 people. The long-sought-after performance has now been officially released as Live at the Oval 1971 .

The release is newly mixed from the original 8-track analogue multi-track tapes by Bob Pridden and Richard Whittaker, with mastering by Jon and Layla Astley. The packaging was designed and produced by Richard Evans, with cover artwork by Josh Townshend, Pete Townshend's cousin. Liner notes are by Andy Neill.
