Bruce Springsteen Releases 7 'New' Albums at Once!
There it is, the announcement that Springsteen fans have been waiting for for 20 years, because that's how long people have been speculating about 'Tracks 2'. It was already known that Springsteen still had a lot of unreleased material on the shelf. Especially about work from the 90s there was wild speculation.
Now it has emerged that Bruce Springsteen has left no less than 7 full albums on the shelf in the period 1983-2018. These will be released on 27-6-2025 in the form of a 9-LP box set.
Featuring 82 previously unreleased songs, The Lost Albums fill in chapters of Springsteen's extensive career timeline while offering invaluable insights into his life and work as an artist. "The Lost Albums were complete records, some to the point where they were mixed and unreleased," Springsteen said. "I've been playing this music to myself and often to close friends for years. I'm glad you'll finally get a chance to hear it. I hope you enjoy it."
From the lo-fi exploration of LA Garage Sessions '83, which served as a crucial link between Nebraska and Born in the U.S.A., to the drum loops and synth sounds of Streets of Philadelphia Sessions, The Lost Albums offer unprecedented context for 35 prolific years of Springsteen's songwriting and home recording. "The ability to record at home whenever I wanted gave me the opportunity to go in a wide variety of different musical directions," Springsteen explains. Over the course of the set, that sonic experimentation takes the form of film scoring (for a film that was never made) on Faithless , pedal steel-laced country combos on Somewhere North of Nashville , richly woven frontier narratives on Inyo , orchestral, midcentury noir on Twilight Hours , and E Street-favorite rock on Perfect World .
The Lost Albums are available on vinyl in a limited edition nine-LP box set , including original packaging for each previously unreleased record, with a 100-page, cloth-bound hardcover book featuring rare archival photos, liner notes on each lost album by essayist Erik Flannigan, and a personal introduction to the project by Springsteen himself.
In addition to the box set, a compilation (2LP) will also be released with the best tracks from these 7 albums.
