Bob's Vinyl Tips | Mei 2025

Bob's Vinyl Tips | May 2025

Every month a lot of beautiful things are released on vinyl. At the end of each month I choose 3 albums that I find special, striking, worth mentioning or just beautiful!

In May 2025, a lot of good news appeared again. For example, there were new records from Matt Berninger, Pinkpantress, Garbage, Counting Crows, Stef Bos, Young Gun Silver Fox and the absolute best seller of this month: the solo debut of Damiano David . Of course, there were also reissues. The best seller was without a doubt that of Brothers in Arms by Dire Straits . View all releases from May 2025 that we have in stock here.

All nice, or at least nice and friendly, but my choice this month fell on the following 3 titles:

Kaleo - Mixed Emotions -Blue/Black- (LP)

1. Kaleo - Mixed Emotions

Icelandic rockers Kaleo are back with Mixed Emotions. On their long-awaited third album, Kaleo once again shows why they are one of the most exciting rock bands of the moment. Mixed Emotions is a powerful record full of contrasts – from raw, bluesy riffs to intimate ballads. Frontman JJ Julius Son effortlessly navigates between soulful melancholy and fiery intensity, with a voice that grabs you by the throat.

Listening tip: Sofðu Unga Ástin Mín

Jon Allen - Seven Dials (LP)

2. Jon Allen - Seven Dials

With Seven Dials, British singer-songwriter Jon Allen delivers a warm and timeless album, rooted in folk, soul and classic rock. Think of a cross between Paul Simon, Van Morrison and Ray LaMontagne, with a voice full of character that often reminds of Rod Stewart from his Faces era. This record breathes craftsmanship. A fantastic 'Sunday morning record'!

Listening tip: The Shadow

Andrew Cushin - Love Is For Everyone (LP) - Bob's Vinyl

3. Andrew Cushin - Love Is For Everyone

Raw, honest and drenched in British melancholy – Love Is For Everyone is the impressive second album by Andrew Cushin. A fantastic upbeat rock album! Cushin sings about love, loss and resilience, against a background of nice guitars and catchy melodies. This is Britpop anno now! Think Arctic Monkeys with more soul, or Sam Fender with a touch of Oasis.

Listening tip: New World Blazing
