Bob's Vinyl Tips | March 2025

Every month a lot of beautiful things are released on vinyl. At the end of each month I choose 3 albums that I find special, striking, worth mentioning or just beautiful!
March 2025 was another busy month in the record store. A few crackers were released: new records from Lady Gaga, Mumford & Sons, S10, Jethro Tull and Steven Wilson. Deluxe albums from Dua Lia and Araian Grande and reissues from The War On Drugs and Jimmy Page & The Black Crowes. All nice, or at least nice and friendly, but my choice this month fell on the following 3 titles:
1. Greentea Peng - Tell Dem It's Sunny
This is the second long player of this Londoner. Her style is not easy to summarize but let's call it a mix of psychedelic R&B, dub-reggae, hip-hop and neo-soul. She makes a great cocktail of it supplemented with very good introspective lyrics. Boss record!
2. My Morning Jacket - Is
The band around frontman Jim James is back! This new album is full of delicious 70s inspired rock with lots of guitars, great melodies and then those beautiful sten of Jim James... The production was in the hands of Brendan O'Brien (Springsteen).
3. Ditty - Kali
Born in New Delhi and now living between India and Berlin, Ditty creates a unique blend of indie folk and poetic songwriting with a clear message. She combines personal reflection with social themes – particularly her commitment to environmental and climate activism. Recommended listening: Mamma and Money.
